On Tuesday I attended a great mastermind session with Mac Attram who is the authority on running successful mastermind groups in the UK.
I had decided to attend because I have decided to broaden my reach, still focusing mainly on women but a different segment of that large area called “women”
I already work with women internet marketers, I support mothers because I believe they belong at home making money online and now I am looking at women in the baby boomer group.
Same industry – different niches!
As I am focusing on the UK too because I want my training to be more offline than it has been in the past I decided to go right back to basis to make sure I had a viable business. So I started with Sylvie Fortin’s Marketing ESP Cookbook: The 4-Step Process to Finding Hot, Hungry Markets!
I bought this Monday morning and spent most of the day reading through it. It is an amazing “cookbook” that is totally making me think different. One thing Sylvie Fortin mentioned was the possibility of finding a completely new market. On the Monday evening I attend Mac Attram’s business mastermind group. Again my intention was to look at training offline and the area I will focus on. During my mastermind session one of the members of my group Steph Daniels suggested I look at baby boomers – those UK professionals who are looking to retire in the next 12-24 months and still need to generate an income.
I thought this was a wonderful idea and am going to seek out UK funding opportunities if it proves that there are in fact UK baby boomers – or people 50+ looking to learn new digital skills that will help them earn an income. This isn’t traditional computer training for the over 50s but more how to use your computer skills to build an online business.
Internet Marketing Training For UK Baby Boomers
I am going to do a lot of research over the next week to see if providing internet markting training for UK baby boomers is something worth pursuing and if you are someone who is heading towards retirement and looking for different ways to earn an income please let me know by leaving a comment below.
To ensure I don’t mis-lead anyone this is how it will work
I will run the first 2 or 3 groups to beta test the idea of helping you start your own online business. It will involve a very low cost to join – between £67-£150 for the weekend. Remember this is training that will actually help you to get started – not just a bunch of people talking at you and then trying to sell you their product in the back of the room! Most of your fee will be to cover the cost of a room for the weekend plus tea/coffee etc.
The workshop will run for a weekend and will cover blogs, information products and affiliate marketing – those are the methods I use. So if you were looking to get started with ebay or something I can’t help
There will be pre-training work to do so that we cover some important steps before meeting up in the training room.
I am particularly looking to work with self employed women who need to find a source of income that will add to (or even take over from) their current business income. I also want to work with those in the public sector who have dedicated their time supporting others – nurses, teachers, social workers etc.
The groups will be small – definitely under 20 more likely to be 10-15 people because I want to provide one to one attention as I prefer working that way.
Criteria : You have to be over 40, closer to 50 and any age past 50 to attend and you have to commit to the whole weekend. You also need to have basic internet skills in terms of knowing how to write an email, how to join a network (like Facebook or my UK blogging group), how to talk and connect with people online.
The best way to ensure you find out more is to visit join my Blogging Meetup group and I will include information there. For now I have no intention of starting anything before September and will use May-August to get ready and ensure everything is in place. I may run one “beta” testing group during that time – let’s see
Do you think this will provide you with value? Leave me a comment and let me know what kinds of things you need help with or what you particularly want to know about.

Hi Diane!
Think you’ve hit the jackpot here!
As one of the earliest baby boomers (born 1947) I am sure there are lots like me who, having had a rather “interesting” path in life, are earning good money at the moment, but don’t have provision for income once we stop working.
I’ll be following what you’re doign with interest, and will pass on your message!
Thanks for your support Shelagh. Definitely appreciate you passing that on. I will make a video soon and get myself noticed a few other ways!
Diane
Hi Dianne,
My gut feeling says that you are really onto something here but as we both know you need to do thorough research. As I’m 54 I may even qualify ha ha. I’ve not forgotten about the the phone consultation, and I’m going looking to get it organized for next week (if our schedules permit). Take care. p.s I’d better tweet this for you hadn’t I.
